Some rules before and after the treatment
The guidelines for our innovative FUE method of hair reconstruction by rehaar® have been developed through the extensive, long-term experience of Heilpraktiker Mr. Senguel as both a patient and a practitioner in various hair transplantation techniques. This forms the basis for our innovative method and is continuously adjusted and refined based on our experiences at rehaar®.
These guidelines are written for the general public and may only apply to you as a patient in specific aspects. We will discuss the guidelines in advance for your individual case during a personal consultation. Please feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment.
Next Steps
Please begin by documenting any dietary supplements, medications, and recreational substances you consume. Then, refer to the list where we provide detailed information on when specific supplements need to be discontinued. It’s best to input this information into your mobile calendar with a reminder function to ensure you don’t forget.
Important Questions about Medication
- Finasteride is a DHT inhibitor and has been successfully used for 30 years to treat hair loss. Finasteride at a dosage of 1 mg should not be discontinued before, during, or after hair reconstruction.
- Minoxidil is a potassium channel opener and was originally developed as an oral medication for treating high blood pressure. Presumably, the widened blood vessels improve the nutrient supply to the hair follicles. However, Minoxidil is dissolved in alcohol, which can cause irritation to fresh wounds. You can usually resume Minoxidil approximately 14 days after completing the treatment. Consider whether you tolerate it shortly after treatment or if your scalp could react too sensitively. If you have any questions regarding this matter, feel free to contact us. Minoxidil promotes circulation particularly well and can accelerate the time until the first hairs start to grow again. Important: You must definitely stop using Minoxidil two weeks before the treatment.
- Smoking can have negative effects on wound healing and overall health, so it’s generally recommended to avoid smoking before, during, and after the treatment. Smoking can impair blood circulation, which is crucial for proper wound healing. Additionally, smoking increases the risk of complications during surgery and can interfere with the body’s natural healing processes. Therefore, it’s advisable to refrain from smoking for at least a few weeks before and after the procedure to optimize healing and minimize the risk of complications. If you have any concerns or questions about smoking and its impact on your treatment, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with us.
